CDL Exams

All our medical examiners are nationally certified.

DOT certified CDL physicals are available by appointment and occasionally as a walk in if there is an available appointment at that time.

Schedule your physical today so you won’t have to spend 2-7 hours waiting for your physical at the urgent care or Doctors office.

You can schedule on-line by tapping here or call and we will assist you or you can walk in and we will schedule for the first available time.

You must be present at the office 10 minutes before your scheduled time to ensure you do not miss your appointment. If you are not able to finish your health history online you must show up 30 before your appointment time or you may have to reschedule for a later time.

Your health history must be complete by your appointment time or you may have to reschedule.

A quick story. I had a driver, David,  come in for his first every CDL exam and he was able to pass the physical part of the exam but we had to delay his certification 4 days so that he could get the necessary medical documents together to complete the exam. He needed his 90 day Cpap report showing 70% compliance, he needed the insulin form because he used insulin, his A1c because he was diabetic and he needed a medication form signed by his doctor because one of the medications he was taking could disqualify him from driving. He was very understanding of the process but it delayed his starting his CDL training.

To avoid delays in getting your medical certificate remember to:

  • Come prepared to provide a urine sample so we can check kidney function and glucose levels
  • Bring Government issued ID – Drivers license or CDL is best
  • Bring a list of medications you take
  • Bring working hearing aids if needed
  • Bring glasses or contacts if you need them for driving
  • Bring 90 day Cpap report or your Cpap chip so we can access the report if you have sleep apnea
  • Bring medical release and or lab results if you have/use:
    • Heart problems or procedures
    • Stroke/TIA
    • Use insulin
    • Antidepressant therapy
    • Use restricted medications (Benzodiazapines, ) tap here for a partial list of medication that need clearance from your doctor
  • Bring waiver, certificate or exam results if you have:
    • An Exemption Certificate
    • A Skill Performance Certificate
    • A Federal Waiver
    • An Insulin form
    • An Eye Exam results and clearance from ophthalmologist – new vision standard

If you want to keep your examiner happy (and you do) REMEMBER

  • Use your best manners with the staff
  • No smoking or chewing before or during the exam
  • Don’t use your phone unless directed to find health information by your examiner
  • No coffee, energy drinks or caffeinated beverages before or during the exam so your blood pressure is not artificially high
